Description
Tomie dePaola (pronounced Tommy daPOWla) was born on September 15,1934 in Meriden, Connecticut, Since 1956 Tomie dePaola's career has been as professional artist and designer,a teacher of art, a painter and muralist and as an artist and author of books for children His career as a professional artist and designer paralleled his success as an author. A prolific writer, he produces sometimes two to four children's books a year. He enjoyed many "one man shows" in Boston which featured his drawings and set designs. Many of his murals adorn the walls of Catholic churches and monasteries in New England. I have up for auction an earlier piece of Folk art done by Tomie dePaola in 1966. It is a 16.25" x 9.5" wood carving then beautifully painted by Mr. dePaola. The piece is signed on the back and in excellent condition. The colors are vibrant and the piece depicts two hearts (that has become a symbol for Mr. dePaulo which he also uses for an abbreviation for"love") one with the word LOVE on it and the other with the word JOY. This is a very special item and would make a wonderful addition to any Tomie dePaola or Art collection. I accept paypal, personal checks and money orders. All packages are mailed USPS Priority mail. Insurance is required. I pack all my items very well to insure your purchase arrives to you in perfect condition. I am not responsible for any damage that may occur during transit this is why I require insurance. I want all my auction customers to be happy with their auction purchases from me and will accept returns within 7 days of the items original mailing date and only if item is not as described in the auction. Please feel free to email me with any questions you may have about this auction and I usually respond within 24 hours. Happy Bidding
