Watercolor Portrait of Distinguished Gent./ Man' Description Exceptionally nice miniature portrait of a distinguished gentleman from the early 19th century, found in Maine, done in watercolor, matted and framed in a period lemon gold frame.  This watercolor portrait, done on paper,  measures approx. 2 1/2" x 2".  The entire framed portrait, measures 4 1/4" x 4 5/8".  This particular gentleman is very handsome and pleasing to the eye, even by today's standards!   The artist was extremely skilled and used a very fine brush stroke in this painting, as I have examined this watercolor under a magnifying glass--a compeltely superb work!  I acquired this wonderful early watercolor through one of the top antique dealers in Wiscassett, Maine, and that information will be given to the lucky winner.
